read on cichlid forum.com that "botia species can make good companions for mbuna" i know it georaphically wrong but could that work? i love clown loaches and dont really want to let mine go cos mbuna are coming.water would be a bit hard tho in my opinion?! how do mbuna react to plecs and syno's do they just ignore them? finally will synos eat mbuna fry?cheers!

Synos are ok with mbuna because they require the same parameters, synos come from (as fas I am aware) fast flowing mountain rivers with hard water and a high PH. I am unsure whether they would eat the fry or not. Probably not.

As for the botia I dont know, do they not need soft water????

someone else will give you better advice though lol.
