Can anyone identify this fish?

Just how large are the ones in the 300 gallon you mentioned?
Convicts aren't peaceful - you say these are peaceful.
Get a side pic.
How big are these at the moment?
BTW OohFeeshy, kissers don't have the long ventrals like other gouramies.

I think a better pick my first thought was mbuna(albino socofoli)
lol that was my first thought though the head and mouth shape from what I can see just didn't click with me as socofoli.

I have seen a VERY similar looking fish at my lfs and have been wondering what it is for some time as all it has is some scientific name stuck under it that i can never remember- what i do know is that the ones at my lfs are about 4inchs, in a coldwater tank(although my lfs puts many tropical fish into coldwater tanks that shouldn't be there) and it appears to be an albino version of a fish in the tank right next to it which is deep royal blue with no pattening... -_- , I don't know if this helps you guys at all or just confuzzles things as i know for sure my lfs is selling exactly the same fish- they have about 20 of them in a 15gal and just swim side by side each other all day so i don't think they are agressive fish as i have never seen them be....

I personally would like to know where in left feild you are coming from, because you don't show any evidence that says that they are not peiceful where as I can, then again whats peaceful to you and I may and probably will differ. peaceful to me is a con a ram something like that where as to you it might be a guppy, a platy or something else that most of my fish would consider food.

What? I didn't entirely understand the first part of that paragraph; "I personally would like to know where in left feild you are coming from, because you don't show any evidence that says that they are not peiceful where as I can"
I wasn't actualy reffering to your post when I asked that question.
Regardless, 3 convicts in a tank will not swim peacefuly (ie: no chasing, no nipping, minding their own business) amongst you average community fish as was suggested in the original post. Obviously I am making the assumption that the fish are in a community setting. Even if they aren't, adult convicts won't be gentle with one another as you probable know already. They'll fight and compete and are territorial. Again, I'm assuming they are adults and this is one of the reasons I asked for their current size.
Also, I don't think a convict is comaparble to a ram temperament-wise and just because a fish will eat other fish/is predatory that doesn't make it aggressive or not peaceful.

pink con is a very very likely choice but the pic is so blurry and grainy it is really hard to tell, but based on the overal body shape from what I can see a pink con would be a very good guess.  as to their agressiveness, ime it is very over rated, so long as it isn't in there with a mate and breeding it would be fine.
It would be fine? Do you know what all he has shoved into this little 30g tank? It would be fine,IF he had a suitable size tank.

atm he says he has these fish (after getting rid of many and having many killed)in a 30g.

1x 6 inch sev
2x "convict"
1x friend's parrot
1x bristlenose pleco
2x yo yo loach

as i said BlueIce. I am getting rid of my severum later on tonight. To save me from buying a 50 gallon if it is too small, please tell me the size of the tank that I would need to hold these fish.

Ah yes, I forgot that. Well, fine, I didn't know, but I remember the kissers at a pet shop I went to didn't have them.

I would say con too,tho a better pic would help.
Please tell me you did not put these in with the sev and other fish in the 30g from this thread...

yeah, why?
I have a feeling that I have done something wrong
Not to be mean...but do you not read ? Over and over and OVER you ask the same question.People answer and tell you that your tank is overstocked, get rid of fish and yet you add more and then act shocked when they start attacking each other.

Do whatever you feel is right.Obviously you won't listen to anyone on this forum. You just keep rephrasing the question and keep ignoring the advice.

Good luck...you'll need it.
I've got rid of my pegassius, my glass catfish, and my severum is going tomorrow. I can't see how my tank is overstocked when all I will have in there tomorrow is

2x "convict"
1x friend's parrot
1x bristlenose pleco
2x yo yo loach

Plus I'm going to upgrade to a 50 - 60 gallon tank in the next month anyway. They have loads of room to swim and loads of hiding places and bar the severum everyone seems to be getting on no problem.
Plus, as I said before. It was not me who bought the fish. It was my dad. If I give back those two fish and when i have to give back my friends parrot I will have a 50 - 60 gallon tank with a pleco and two yo yo loaches. :dunno:
i really hope that "peggasius" you listed wasnt a pangasius

I would say that this is a Pink Kissing Gourami. I looks just like the ones we sell at the petstore where I work.

way to drag up an old post :D

That's got to be getting on for the best one yet... 28 months old!
