Can Anybody Tell Me What Shrimp This Is?

I never get it when LFS's don't know what they're selling and people come here asking what they've bought. No offense to you it just surprises me, you'd think the shop would know.

Lol, I agree! I've seen many fish and shrimp labeled incorrectly. The worst part of it is I've seen mistakes in a couple of boutique lfs! It wasn't even the big chain store. (Although they are the worst with mis-labeling). I've sold some shrimp to my lfs, they were neocaridina heterpoda and when I went back in there the next week, they had picked out all the tiger striped ones and really mottled ones and called them a different name and was selling them for big money! I was ticked! I asked the owner why he did that and he tried to tell me they weren't my shrimp! I bred and raised them, I know what my shrimp look like. No more shrimp for them!

Yeh. My missus went back and and I think the owner said he couldn't find the invoice for them. The last that sold them said they came in Dutch packaging and couldnt understand a word of it. All I know is that they labeled it on the shop floor in dutch.

Ok. The closest I could come up with, in regards to pictures is the Macrobrachium rosenbergii, however there are several types. I have only seen one picture where one claw is significantly bigger than the other. Any possibility it could be this?

Its likely one claw arm was damaged/lost and is regrowing. I doubt it is actually suppose to be smaller then the other. Shrimp/crayfish have that fun ability to regrow limbs.

Both of my shrimp are like it. I very much doubt that both would have been damaged. Also the shop had another 3 exactly the same.

Ok. Just looked at the tank, it looks as though one of the shrimp shredded it's claw?!? I dont mean the whole thing, but like a snake sheds it's skin
