Came Back To The Hobby...

Santa brought me a 29 gallon kit after a 6 year hiatus. Last 50 was saltwater and decided to go live planted, freshwater tank with dirt. Cycle is coming along and building bacteria as I remember. Tests are good and tank clearing up daily.
Placed 3 Tiger Danios and 2 Apple Snails to help.
Tetra EX30 filter and waited for T5HO bulbs for a Zoo Med fixture.
Putting a plan for a community tank. Flame Gourami's, Algea Eater and some Mollies to follow when under control.

STARTED 12/26/13 after Santa left
 
WE ARE DOING A FISH IN CYCLE, BUT WISHED I JOINED HERE FIRST AFTER READING ABOUT THE FISH,ESS CYCLE. I RAN THE TANK FOR FOUR DAYS WITH THE PLANTS. DID 50% CHANGES DAILY AND HAD THE LFS CHECK WATER.
01/01/14-PLACED THREE ZEBRA DANIO'S TO HELP THINGS ALONG, TWO APPLE SNAILS
NO AMMONIA SINCE JAN.6, TESTING EVERY TWO DAYS AND SEE:
0.00 AMMONIA
2PPM NITRITES
5PPM NITRATES
7.6 PH
WHEN I SEE THE NITRITE LEVEL I DO A 30% WATER CHANGE
1/11/14- added 3red platy's
1/13/14-saw some white(ich)spots? Dead that night! Returned and got 2 more.
The next two days saw one platy per day die. No sign of any ick??
 
Doing 8 gallon changes every two days, add declorinator into tap water.
No change to readings since the 13th....
Question, should I medicate tank??
