Hi everyone just wondering how long will the eggs of the worm survive without a host sadly all my fish died from the worms. Ive drained the tank and adding mebenzadole hoping ill clear out the last of them. Can the eggs stay dormant or do they die off

I was trying to find the exact article I went by, I used Levamisole and a blackout. I can't find the exact article on Google anymore but there are some good ones that are similar. It was maybe 2 years ago and my angelfish are doing fine, I purchased the Levamisole from a farm supply store and dosing was listed in the article, be sure you clean the filter well and gravel vac, they are aggravating for sure. Wish I could be of more help.

Parasitic worm eggs can last for months or even years in dry or damp conditions. Your best bet is to deworm all new fish as soon as you get them and treat the tank too.
