Camallanus, Is There Any Cure Yet?

After giving up on our smaller tank due to the Camallanus, I thought we would have no more problems, On new years day I was looking at one of the angel fish in our 55 gallon tank and I noticed a thin red worm hanging from the angel fishes bottom, I was gutted, It wiped one tank out with cheaper fish in it, Now I am worried it will happen again with our 55 gallon tank with big expensive fish that weve had for a few years

Yep, there is a cure, a 4 week, weekly treatment of flubenol 15/wormer plus (they are the same thing) will kill all the worms, although if its got to the stage where you can see loads of worms in their anus, it might be too late for them.
Have a look on ebay or google the above meds, they are not available in many shops yet

Mela-fix, De-wormer, Maracine Tertacyline, Anti-Bacteria bioshperes, Maracryn, Anti-Parasite Med food, Maracryn two, Cooper safe, Tri-sulfa.

The problem is you need to treat the tank for a few weeks with camallanus worms as it only kills the adult worms, not the eggs, so if you add meds for 4 weeks or so, as the eggs hatch, they will die.
I am not familiar with most of the meds you mention above apart from melafix, so couldn't comment on their effectiveness. Certainly adding meds to the water is better than to the food as its usually the weaker fish that doesn't get to the food, hence also no medicine

At least I now what the problem is next time somebody gets it. I took it to three petstores and they all said that they didnt know whats wrong with them.
