I thought this was one of the most beautiful, delicate aquatic plants and I was going to use it in bunches for the whole right rear corner of my 55 gallon long. I bought two bunches today for my new set up and thought I'd google it to do some readin up on it just for fun. This is what I found;

I had no idea this plant was considered a weed in Australia! Just like when I bought my apple snail....instead of seeing it as a cherished and useful (algae eater) pet in aquariums, rice growers in Asia consider it a bitter enemy because its a pest! They tried eating it to help control the population and many died because this particular snail carries too many parasites!

As with anything else you buy in the aquatic industry....please do NOT dump your unwanted fish, snails, critters, or plants in public waterways!!!

I wouldnt go as far as to say that, nut yes, it is a pest. Australia has an ideal clmate for tropical plant species. And also fish! A list of fish from tropical tanks that are pest downunder include, Mollies, Guppys, Sailfins, Swords and Convict Chiclids. :crazy:
