this may seem like a silly question but how do i connect my diffuser to the co2 supply? by this I mean do I fill the diffuser with water before connecting or connect dry and place in aquarium. i realise this is probably a real dumb question so thanks in advance. the diffuser is pictured here

From what I can see, just connect the co2 hose to the bottom of the diffuser, and then place into the tank, near the bottom.

Dont worry about filling it or anything, but do remember to use a check valve, so you don't get tank water siphoning back out of the tank, when the co2 pressure drops off.

Another question......... if you don't fill it with water, how do you count the bubbles?

I have the same type of diffuser, I filled mine with water then connected the c02 pipe with return valve, right at the bottom of the diffuser you should be able to count bubbles as this model has a built in counter, to be safe I have connected another bubble counter before it reaches the diffuser just to get the right reading, Over precautious but I have had a few problems with c02, all is good at the moment

I've connected return valve to my yeast bottle so presumably I won't need to add another, will I?

It's all working well enough - I just assumed the inner-spiral was to allow longer contact with the water, increasing total co2 absorbed, therefore it needed to be filled but when I tried to fill it it's a real pig to get any water into it. Are there any easy ways or do i just literally have to wait for it to fill?

And how much do i need to fill it - half, full etc?
