Well there was even more changing going on at my house today. I rounded up all 28 of my swordy juviniles and daddy swordy and took them to my lfs. I kept only my female and one of her babies. I got about $37 US dollars for the swordtails. That works out to about $1.30 US per fish. I was pretty happy about that.

I ended up picking out 5 plastic plants (nice ones) and some bloodworm in return. The plants and bloodworm ended up being around $58 US dollars but the guy said it was fine. I guess I spend so much money there that he didn't mind I was over :p

Yesterday I moved my betta girls to my 14 gallon tank and had the swordtails in the 30 gallons. I was thinking of getting some cooler fish for one of the 30 gallons but I decided to get somemore female bettas instead. I picked out 4 but when I got home there were only 3 in the bag  So I called my lfs and sure enough one of the girls was still in the plastic container flopping around in hardly any water  I'm going to go tomorrow and pick her up. So now all my girls are back in the 30 gallon.

That left me with the other empty 30 gallon and an empty 14 gallon. I decided to move the mollies from my other 14 gallon into the empty 30 gallon. So all in all I ended up taking down the 2 14 gallon tanks. I'm going to store them away for now. Right now I am just feeling relieved to be down to 4 tanks and not having to do water changes every night :X

I don't know what to say. After all that work, how could you let them all go? Keep in mind that your girl may continue to present you with fry for several months.

I know it must be a shock for you to hear I sold them all  I was planning on keeping some but then with all my platies I'm keeping the 55 gallon is full and then I had a bunch of black mollies that I wanted to keep so I needed the other 30 gallon. I have the 2 smaller 14 gallons but I couldn't really see swordtails being happy living in one of those.

I couldn't part with my big girl though or her "stunted" baby. I knew if I took them to the pet store then I'd be back there the next day to get them back. Yeah she will probably have more fry for the next couple of months if I want to raise somemore. Right now she seems happy to finally not have a male chasing her around 24/7.
