A few things to point out.
 
First, mollies are very easy to come by, I believe that the majority of PetSmart and PetCo stores in the US will stock them.
 
Secondly, you really need to have a ratio of 1 male to 3 females at least. Male livebearers are very persistent, and can stress a female literally to death with his constant attention - by having multiple females, his attention gets spread amongst them, and they get some respite from his constant attempts to mate.
 
Thirdly, mollies are very easy to breed. You will, if you do it right, end up with lots of fry, literally 90-100 per month if you have at least 3 females. You need to consider where these fish are going to go. Are you going to keep them all? How are you going to move them on if you aren't going to keep them all? Not all local fish shops will take home-bred fish.
