Buying Fish

Find a reputable dealer and yes its usually ok to buy them from the net, Ive had several fish from various sources sent via the post, as long as they are sent next day delivery, with heat packs in poly boxes and oxygen added to the bag, Ive only once had one arrive dead.

I see this subject as cruel, the time that the fish is taken out of the tank to its new home should be minimalized, i havnt dared to try the internet option as i think its cruel, plus the fish you get might not look how you wanted it to, at least in lfs you can pick your specimin and take him home with care

I just dont trust them, although i can see it as a good option for rare fish, or specific ones out of reach from a lfs

Ive bought fish online from wildwoods and found them to come really well packaged and always alive.

Looking in to them if you want to buy online :good:

when you consider fish are farmed in places like singapore they have to get to the uk some how and to lfs
posting for nxt day delivery is relatively short haul and i wouldnt say its cruel at all when done properly
scot :)

:good: Scot, they come a helluva long way to get into the fish shops in the first place, a short journey across the UK is childs play to them tbh
