Are bumble-bee catfish the same as cory cats or is my lfs nameing them something their not

bumble bee goby maybe? never heard of a Cory being called a bumble bee cat. Pic maybe?

I wouldn't call it false advertising. Common names are wide and varied. Several are definitely misleading but they're usually not intentionally false.

There is a corydoras catfish that is known as a bumble bee cory. It is the C. tukano.

these were albino cory cats, nothing bumble-bee about them

There is such a thing as a bumble bee catfish though. I own one, cutest little thing ever. You can look it up in the fish index on this site.

Saying Cory Catfish is like saying pleco, there are so many varieties that no LFS can carry em all.

true, i jus thoght id cover em all ill look it up, but im pretty sure corys and bb catfish have nothing in common except for the catfish part.
