I have two new bumblebee catfish for my 65 litre tank. I'm hoping they are the smaller variant - the South American. If they turn out to be giant bumblebees, I'm screwed =)

Is there anything I need to be aware of with these guys?

They have loads of places to hide in a lightly stocked, planted tank. They'll be fed on catfish pellets (two different kinds) and frozen daphnia, brineshrimp and bloodworm.

I knew they are shy and nocturnal.

Is there anything else?

One of mine seems really thin (wish I'd noticed this in the shop) and he hardly moves. The other is a maniac. The thin one also breathes so lightly that I can't see his gills working . . . I'm actually pretty worried. How can I tempt him to eat? Just give him time?

He was in with juvenile malawis at the shop and I think they bullied him and stole the catfish pellets.

I saw him breathing! And he's a bit more active now he has settled a bit more. Still worried about him, though.

Cool you seem pretty well set, from what I have read they will eat anything. If one is a bit skinny just keep an eye on him he will get tempted when he is hungry. Give him 2 weeks for a settling period and see how he is after that :) But for now I would leave him alone, the moving process is very stressful for any fish and if he was in a rough tank on top of that I should think he is feeling quite rough now.

I won't rush him =) just don't want him to die on me ;)

The fatter one is actually sitting in the open. Seems quite calm. I expected them both to hide as soon as I put them in the tank but they've both been wandering around and investigating things.

They are super cute. Both my partner and I are in love.
