Bumble Bee Gobies

As the title says, is it true there are 2 types of BBG?? Brackish and freshwater.
I have been reading other sites, some say yes some say no??

We used to have 2 in our fresh water tank and they did fine in it other than being EXTREMELY picky eaters. If you don't have a way of feeding them live food, do NOT get any.

I have read about there fussy eating. I have live food for my bettas so that's. Good start

There are two species, they look very similar but the freshwater variation is very much rarer in the hobby. Though most shops keep the brackish ones and sell them as freshwater, this really disgusts me..

Brachygobius xanthozona (xanthomelus? has it changed) - Will tolerate freshwater to an extent, will shorten its lifespan as its body has to cope with the differences. Has perfect unbroken black/yellow(off white) stripes with no other patches, spots or markings.

Brachygobius nunus - Wont tolerate freshwater at all and will very quickly die if kept so. Whilst looking very similar to B.xanthozona to the untrained eye, its bands arent so clearly defined and has blotches and spots and broken stripes.

So basically, no matter which is bought (or sold as should I say) its better to keep them in a brackish aquarium
