Bully Tetra!

I have 15 tetras of 4 different species in a 40gal tank with various other fish. Iv had one of the silvertips for almost a year and alllll of a sudden hes the meanest fish in the world! He has wounded atleast half of my tetras, even those of his same species. Injuries include a missing chunk of flesh behind the dorsal fin, a missing top lip, scratches and spots of discolouration, and even death. I am certain that this individual is the culprit because i see him do it! what do i do?! Kill him? let him be?! what!?!

I'm afraid silvertips are like that if not in large enough shoals (I have 18 and even then I wouldn't trust them with anything slow moving or long finned). Can't you put him in your empty 15 gallon? At least until you can find someone with more silvertips who can add him to their shoal? Although you might find one of the others starts once he's out of the way...

thanks! i just find it awfully strange that he doesnt attack any slow fish,only the speedy tetras of his and other shoals.

I would give it to my lfs but it just went out of business last week ='( i live in a veryyyy sparcely populated area so finding a home for it will be tough
