Bulbs

I'm usless with lighting! I have a Juwel Trigon 190 with the standard lighting. Thats one Day and one Nature bulb? (One is white, the other is yellow) :lol:

I'd rather ditch the yellow looking bulb and have just two white lights. Is this possible to do? I think it will enhance the light in my tank a lot.

Or is it not such a good idea? It's for a planted tank.

That'd be fine, it wont affect the plants, you can buy industrial tubes from lampspecs, they're cheaper than those on the aquarium market.

you still can't get Juwel T5's (390mm/28w) from lampspecs, it's a shame, as you'll still pay around £15-£20 for the tubes. JBL have brought a range out that fit Juwel T5s, they are cheaper.

Ah that is a shame, I've always been a fan of Juwel but their unique bulb sizes are somewhat off putting.

With the standard light unit I have, what are the best bulbs I can get that will fit straight in?

For a planted tank. And i'd prefer two white lights rather than a yellow and white look :good:

I'd replace the nature with a Day, it should give you a nice white crisp balanced colour.

I presume your tank is fitted with T8's? What's the tube diameter of the current tubes? If so you could order from lamp specs and get them for a fraction of the price.

I haven't a clue if it's T5 or T8 etc lol. All I know is they are original bulbs / holder.

How would I find out what bulbs it's holding? And i'll check :good:
