Hi guys,

I have a Juwel Lido 120ltr tank and it has one of them built in filtration systems.

i would really like to make more space in the tank by removing the filter and replacing it with an Eheim External Cannister.

Cant really see how the filter is attached, but it's well and truly stuck. Is it placed with silicon ? if so , whats the best way to cut it off.

cheers

Ray

I think they're just held on with a few blobs of silicone on the corners. You need something thin, like a long knife, you can slip between the filter and the glass and slit through it.

yes it a bit of a job i had the jewel corner tank with a inbuild filter which i removed and put an external filter on, you need a thin blade to slice through the silione, if put some weight on the plastic caseing it puts away abit, the more you cut the easy it is to put it down a bit, di

cheers guys,, didnt want to break it off as was suggested in a LFS the other day,,,, will try a long hacksaw blade,, as it's thin, but will make sure all the oils are off it. Will go get new filter tomorrow :)

many thanks

I'd try a craft blade. hacksaw blade is not sharp, or thin, enough.
