Last night I spotted a caterpillar-like creature in the tank, a kind of pale green yellish colour. I don't even have any fish yet. I had a quick google and I think it might be planaria. I'm currently on my fishless cycle (first week). It's just reached 0.25ppm of Ammonia, so I plan to redose it up to 5ppm today. Will the Ammonia kill off this bug? How did it get in there? HELP!

do you have plants??? wood??
i inherited snails with my 3rd tank  and they somehow managed to get into my 1st tank in a seperate room

I have a piece of bog wood. I guess it came in on that.

I got it out of the tank today, I just worry there maybe others. As long as the worm thing isn't harmful to fish I'm not bothered.

It is very doubtfull that it will be harmfull to fish, far more likely it will be eaten by the fish.

Planaria will survive if there are excess nutrients in the water, but when you get the tank up and running and your feeding your fish sparingly, they will die off, over feed them and they will continue to grow in numbers, but should be fine
