Budgie And A Small Parrot Such As Senegal?

Ive been thinking about bying a senegal, pionus or a small parrot. I know this is probabaly a silly question but is it possible to keep them in the same cage? The new addition will hopefully me a hand reared baby parrot.

hi there
i would not keep them in the same cage. i have a budgie and they are great little birds, mine says all sorts of phraeses and generally dont shut up!lol
if you keep them with other birds or another budgie they wont talk and just twitter amongst themselves.

My budgie idsnt tame at all! I put my hands in the cage ad it doesnt like it!! I wish I would have bought a younder one! but the moment put music one he sings along! I aint gonna do the same mistake with bying a senegal! Gonna get a baby and handle as often as I can.

thats the best thing to do.

with most pets you have to get them as young as possible and make sure you handle them loads when you first get them.....same with a rabbit i had he was really tame as well but i had him out the hutch all the time!

shame about your budgie :-(

I had a Senegal for a couple years...was pissed when he died....still can't figure out cause of death...He was a complete attention whore... He loved to be out of the cage and I learned that he crapped every 15 minutes like clockwork...He also learned to mimic the beep of my microwave....lol drove my wife nuts...
