just wondering how efficient my co2 reactor is...

how many bubbles per minute do you run to acheive around the 30ppm?

please state you tank size and bpm

i cant even count how many are going though my bubble counter which is saying to me my reacotr isnt very good but the is no co2/bubbles leaving the exit into the water

thanks
chris

There shouldn`t be any bubbles coming out of the reactor. The CO2 is injected in to the bottom of the reactor, and rises up against the flow of your filter outlet. In my Aquamas reactor, there is wool to slow the bubbles down and trap them while they dissolve. Most of them make their way to the top where they are thrown around in the turbulent water from the filter outlet.

As for BPM, this is dictated by my target of 30ppm CO2 in my tank with fish, and by >30ppm CO2 in my two immature tanks where I am currently trying to keep the algae away with uber pearling plants.

The BPM for one tank may not be right for another due to plant mass, efficiency of method of diffusion etc. I only watch the bubble counter when I am adjusting the levels of CO2 up or down, using it as a rough guide as to how much I have altered the CO2.

Hope this helps, Dave.

alrite i understand what your saying

im getting no bubbles coming out of the diy reactor which is a good thing as you said but i seem to be putting a lot in there to get a good level

thanks and it did help :good:

new question

i have the jbl drop checker

which part should i be looking at? the outside or the centre bit (hard to explain so i drew it quickly on paint)

dropchecker.jpg

as the 'centre bit' is a lighter colour to the 'outside' (as it is white plastic with the solution around it where as the 'outside' is just solution until the clear plastic)

so basicly do i look at the centre or the outside to get the correct colour?

thanks and sorry for the technical terms
