and would you put the female in tomorrow and watch closely?

Yes that is a bubblenest but just cause he's making a nest that doesn't mean you have to breed him. Betta breeding requires work and preparation. You have to have live foods on hand and are you prepared if you have several that live (although this doesn't happen much the first time around)? You have to have separate containers for the boys, and a tank for the girls.

Sometimes they blow bubblenests cause they're happy. If your not prepared to breed, just be happy you have a happy, healthy fish!

i think we are prepared we have read many techniques and stuff and have some cups and stuff that we origonally bought our bettas in so you know.and tmrw or friday i plan on buying a gallon tank for the male betta so we can just pull the male out and put him in a tank extremely similar to his now.I dont think we are going to attempt to breed the first time or not today i think we will wait till monday because we wont be here until then we are having my mom feed fish until then.

whats that in with your betta in your signature space?

He's got molly's in there.

One note of advise as you seem determined to breed your betta, you need a bare bottom tank otherwise the eggs and fry will drop into the gravel you have.

Also as I mentioned and asked previously what is the temp of the tank, do you have a heater in there, how are you providing filtration ?

If you want to breed the betta's you will require a lid ontop of the tank to maintain humidity for the fry to develop their lungs, I did ask if you had a lid but you never said anything.

If you have been reading up on breeding betta's all the above would have been mentioned for a successful hatching and maintaining a healthy tank for your spawn.

oh no but im going to wait on breeding and buy a 10 gallon tank and a lid and heater friday and then let him rebuild a bubblenest in there.and this is my male betta not in the tank with the black mollies he is by hiself
