Well today I was installing a new home for my shrimp (a java moss covered coconut shell which has been enthusiastically received) and I noticed that my male Betta had built a bubble nest! This is the first time he's done this, but I've only had him for about a month. Unfortunately while I was rearranging the tank the bubble nest was destoyed. Is that ok? I have no females for him to mate with anyway, but didn't want to stress him out by destroying his hard work!
Thanks
Laura

No harm done. Have just given him an excuse to make another :)
he must be healthy to have built a nest. Always fun to see them.
cheers

Mine makes a new one after every water change. He's in a tank on his own.

I read somewhere online that you should destroy a bubble nest in a community tank to prevent aggression....
Is this true?? Thanks

most times in communities males won't bubble nest as theres too much current, i can see this being true though as they are pretective of there nest
