Bubble Eye

I have tried to keep this fish but somehow I find them a little too delicate for me. I am always afraid of hurting them. I have to give them away to my neighbor who is having great success in keeping them healthy and happy. Is there any resources whereby I can learn more about them before I try to keep them again?

What exactly are the problems you've experienced keeping bubble eyes, OP?

For example, what size was/is your tank, what kind of filtration were you running and how big/often were your water changes? Was your tank cycled before you added the fish?
