Brush On Black Backing Paint?

I'd normally use spray paint for tank backing, but to cut a long story short that's not overly practical for a tank I'm about to set up. Has anyone got any experience of brush on paints for the backing - would that work as well as spray paint? If so, any recommendations as to a particular brand or type of paint to go for?

If push comes to shove I can use spray paint - but if brush on would work just as well it would save me finding a strong person to help me move the tank outside to paint it.

no experience but i've heard latex paint is good (maybe it's easy to remove again down the track?)

For what it's worth, I got told by a guy at the hardware store to go to a craft shop to get paint. Apparently they have better paints that will stick to the glass better and not leave smears.

With most generic paints they will run and flake. (So I'm told).

How much was it, and how much does it cover? Am thinking about this for my tank but it's a 4ft one. Like the black background, but not the rinkly bin-liner effect.
