Hi all!

Just need help with this stuff that is spreading on the bottom of my tank. It's not brown algae cause I know what that looks like. My tank is 8 weeks old and has cycled 2 weeks ago. Along the bottom o
Over the gravel I constantly have this brown fluffy muck that covers the floor. I try to clean it all up by siphoning it out but it comes back within days....I have no idea what it is. It's not fish waste. I have 5 guppies and 5 shrimps and have a 60l tank with a sera power filter. The brown muck is easily sturred up but then settles on the floor again. If anyone could help with any info or solution, that would be amazing!!! :) I have attached a picture of some near the base of my rock. Its so lite that it moves from the water flow of the filter. It is throughout the entire back of my tank. weird stuff...

The Pic Below :)

It's diatoms, a sort of brown algae. It's very common in new set ups and will clear up on it's own in time.

Ahhh ok. Thats what I began to think but then i thought diatoms was just brown algae that grew on the rocks, plants and glass. Its much different to that and is LOOSE, not attached to anything and just sits on the bottom like fluffy cotton lol
