i wish i knew how brown alge got in all three of my betta tanks but it did. i tried to do a complete and udder water change on the tanks but that did no good. it started in jaspers tank then spread to rayne and storms, which is perplexing because they are seperte 5 gallon tanks. and since jasper refuses to share his tank with any other fish i can't use them, is there a chemical i can use that will harm the alge but not the fish.
jasper tried to kill his ottos so my brother took them. both rayne and storm have lace catfish. which seem fine but don't seem to care much about the alge. what can i do please help.
below is a picture of one of the cats.

in my tanks the brown alge grows from too much sunlight r they near a window? just take a soft piece of clean filter spomnge and wipe the alge away, then suck up any floatie bits by siphoning.

Yeah brown algae is from excess sunlight, my betta tank near the window has it, it seemed to grow so far and has now stopped, i just clean is off the front

Brown alage also usually occurs more in newly set up tanks, ive got it at the moment and am having to clean it off every few days. Just bought an apple snail so hopefully he will help.
