hi all, i have a 1200 external filter from 'all pond solutions' and the part of the pipe that hangs over the tank (U shaped) has split down the seam slightly at the moment its fine but that's because i haven't moved it for cleaning yet, any kind of vigorous movement and i fear it may split all together leaving lots of water fall down the back of the tank and onto the carpet. Am I right in saying that all these parts are pretty much standard spec if say i bought one that was made for an eheim or tetratec filter? If so i'll just buy one of those online, as I'm not very near any fish shops where i live.

Yes, they are standard sizes usually. You will need to know the diameter of the pipe, at least Eheim measure in mm, I don't know if any measuer them in inches.

thanks kitty second problem just been searching the Eheim ones and I cant seem to find any that has the screw attachment at one end to connect the hose pipe to, they're all just plain U shaped pipes with the exception of a jbl one which I cant seem to get a link to an actual website that's selling them which is rather irritating.

..screw on? I think I missed something..

Oh, those! They are relatively uncommon.. I don't know who makes them, even. I find that they are not needed and use the inlets/outlets you linked to.

Why not contact aps directly and ask if they can send you a replacement?

im having trouble with APS, i ordered a light 2 weeks ago, so far its not arrived firstly they told me it was sent back to them by mistake........ needless to say its still not arrived

I got in contact with APS and got a pretty fast reply from them today saying they would be able to sell me a replacement set for £6.99 which is fine by me, just waiting for an email back to make doubly sure that the part I specifically need will be included and we're ready to rock on

nope, not in this case, 15mm, decidedly none standard. standard is 12mm and 16mm.

the do seem a bit hit and miss on help. but its a pain not just being able to go to ANY lfs for your parts. like you can with any other filter.
