Brita Filter Kettle

I'm having difficulty understanding the question.

I don't know an awful lot about Brittas, but I looked on their website and found this:

BRITA Partner kettles use the BRITA filter cartridge to remove limescale, chlorine and heavy metals such as lead and copper to improve the taste, smell and appearance of hot water for beverages and for cooking.

Any good dechlorinator should obviously remove chlorine, and most of them will also get rid of any heavy metals present in the water, so I don't see why it would be necessary to use such thing. Normal tap water, once it has had dechlorinator added to it, is fine for use in 99% of cases.

It's a filter to filter drinking water trough it... What do you need it for?

I mean, I don't see why you'd need it in the first place. If you have problem with your tap water, you can get some chemicals to put in the tank.

I'd find a Brita Filter Kettle very handy as I love a cup of tea while doing tank maintenance! ;)

As suggested just use dechlorinator in ordinary tap water unless keeping Discus then you should use RO water.

Have you tried measuring the pH and hardness from a brita filter? I have a filter jug, not a kettle, but that dropped my pH from 7.2 to off the bottom of the scale (less than 6.0), and it dropped my KH from 4 to zero. This is why I would never use Brita water in my tank!
