Was giving the tank a good clean out this evening, did a water change, a gravel vac and was removed a few spots of algea from the glass at the back. Saw a patch that was impossible to reach without moving a big bit of bogwood and as I have one hand full the easiest thing to do was take it out for a minute to get behind it.

Sure you can guess what happened!

Put the wood towel on the big towel I use for water changes, turned back to the tank and heard something odd behind me. Looked back and saw the Bristlenose trying to flap it's way across the lounge floor.

After a moment or two of panic I scooped her up and dropped her back into the tank, obviously her bogwood wasn't available so she headed straight to the Gold Nugget's, who despite being half her size, quickly chased her off and she's been hiding in a slate cave all evening.

Thankfully she's out and about again now and chomping on some courgette. I'm sure she'll be fine, but it was a real shock and although she's clung onto stuff as I was removing it from the tank before this was the first time she actually escaped!

Well I could see the front in the tank and looked at the back on the way out, so she must have swam round. :fun:

i did thatg before with clown loach in my log decoration. they fell out into bath have never been so worried! luckily now they are fine...... just hide when its water change time!! :p

Good story, I had the exact same thing happen to me! Although it took 3 days for my pleco to come out and start acting normal again.

Glad she's ok!

Haha - it's happened to me too before ! I also triple check all wood before removing it from the tank now.
