hi folks i am new to this site and hoping its a good welcome , from reading items on this site i see how greqat people can be to help the amateurs
well i am the real amateur and i will tell you what i got half a dozen platties and two bristlenose cats
i opted for easy care low maintenance, hardy fish and hope i havent made any mistakes
first of all let me explain my tank set up
70l no live plants but fake plants small rocks wood and a couple of half small earthenware plant pots great for dark hiding places and finally a 2-3 mm gravel

i am worried about my bristlenose cats they are about 4-5 cm long new to the tank 4 days,
my problem is i havent seen them at all i cannot locate them at all
i have 360 degrees view of tank and all the hiding places i can see i left pellet food on the bottom as they would come out searching in the fdark hours but the food is still there the filter slots are way to small for them to get pulled into
can anyone help to telling me were they are should i be worried

I just got a Brislenose too. :)
Mines only about 2 - 3 cm long. It hides behide the fitler. I don't know how it fits!!! :hyper:
But it's so cute. I'm in love already.

wish mine was behind the filter i would know then
but i am really concerned now they havent eaten in the time they have been in my tank coming up to 4 days now

mine likes to hide on the very top of the terra cotta pot
errr
underneath the top if you get what im saying
he also hangs out inside my driftwood at times

so check all the dark places where its harder to see into

best of luck friend

i wouldn't worry, I've had two in my tank for 5 months now. I've only ever seen them about ten times, since i put them in. but they look fine whenever i do. they went in a fully mature tank at just 1.5cm

hi ya what about food should i worry they havent come out to get it. or is it like giving a dog new food and they turn there nose up at ie once they get hungry enough they will eat

Don't worry about them not eating the food. I have worried about that because my pleco has been fussy and took a while to eat it's food. I don't feed mine pellet food because a my other fish dive on it first. Try putting cucumber in your tank, just make sure you weigh it down with something.

I rarely see might, however at night when the lights are out, and the orange heater light comes on I can see him coming out, sometimes sticking to the glass. He has a fairly big piece of bogwood which is his, it's about 30cm long by 10cm and he's kinda turned part of it into a bit of a cave. I've had him for over a year now and like boboboy I have hardly seen mine. :)
