Just did a quick DIY brine shrimp hatchery. 24Hrs later i just harvested the shrimp and my congos went nuts for them. In the last 30 min the congos have changed their colours showing a light green sheen. Even though the pellets and fish food will prob have better nutrients then the shrimp goes to show variety is best

I've fancied trying a bit of DIY shrimp harvesting, Have you got a guide you followed Al?

Where did you get the eggs from BBA ?

Interested to give this a go. Also did you add table salt and bicarb ?

Just from ebay mate 40g for £4

I just cut the bottom off a 2 ltr coke bottle, placed the cap end into it to act as a base, filled with tap water (left out for 24 hrs) added 1 full tea spoon sea salt 1 pinch bicarb put the air line in and placed next to a 40w table lamp (temp need to be 26-28c for 24hr hatch) 20 hrs later turn off the pump and lmap and let sit for 10 min, all the eggs float while the shrimp sink into the little cap of the neck and harvested them with a turkey baster

A tip guys only use 1/4 of a tea spoon of eggs per batch untill you find out how much your fish can eat. 13 congo 12 rasbora and 4 apisto and i stall throw some away
