has anyone ever given any thought to a brine shrimp biotope/species tank? or maybe of devoting a tank to some other very small, fully aquatic live food?

any thoughts about how such a tank could be accomplished or what else could live in it?

I live close to the source of where they collect the San Francisco Bay Brand brine shrimps and brine shrimp eggs. It's mostly ponds of sea water that has evaporated to a salinity level that is higher than sea water. There are no plants or fish that live in their environment. Most of what I see are birds that feed on brine shrimp. The water is reddish in color from the type of bacteria that live in the water. I think the brine shrimp feed on the bacteria.
