hi. i am gonna set up a seven gallon, for 2 of every well known livebearer(to mate & give birth) i was wondering if a filter, heater, or an airator was nessesary. thnx!

hopefully not all at the same time! lol
a filter most definately as the babies produce lots of waste!
i dont personally use a heater but it depend how warm the room is and if it goes too cold [ i keep mine infront of a radiator which keeps at a nice 27C =]
and i havent a clue about the last one sorry!

If you filter your tank an aerator is not needed. The temperature needs to be controlled in the right range for the particular livebearer. If you can do that without a heater, then you can. A filter is a must have for a tank where you expect to keep fish more than a day or two, that includes keeping fry that long.

All you rally need is a filter and maybe a heater. It depends where the tank is.... if its by a window (not a good idea) then you should have a heater. Otherwise it isn't really necessary.
