what can i use to clean my trap as it is covered in green algea?

Can i use detergents and rinse well or just a good scrub.

I would not use any detergents as you could jeopardize your tanks health.

I would just take it out and scrub it very well.

If you decide to use detergents, as this may be the only way to clean it. You have to make sure to rinse it very thoroughly. I would maybe also suggest to put some activated carbon in the tank if you clean it with deterrent, as the carbon will catch any detergent that you could of missed.

DONT USE DETERGENT!!!

it will more than likely kill your fish if you leave traces.

use a credit card or something similar scrape it off. or scrub with a green kitchen scourer
 
lol not got any, how do you get it out of the slots?
 
You can use Tetra wipes that don't do damage.

A thin key has helped me get stuff out the slots.
