I know many people successfully breed many fish. But all the info seems scattered over the web and you really have to dig around to put info together.

Wouldn't it be an idea to do some "success breeding profiles" and add them onto existing profiles in the Index ? :dunno: Different people use different methods and have different ideas - and though there's often some common general basics involved, there are specifics too.

But instead of one long waffle, what about something like a concise description under each heading:

Equipment required:
Breeding tank size:
Grow out tank size:
Number of adults in breeding programme:
How to sex male/female & male/female ratio:
Adult Conditioning regime:
Fry Growth rate:
Fry Food & feeding regime:
Breeding water stats:
Grow out maintenance & cleaning regime:
Age/Size for rehoming fry/young:
% Success rate:
Possible pitfalls:

etc. etc. etc.

Just an idea for those who've successfully bred and have the time to add some of that info on to index profiles. If no profile exists - create one

Sounds great! It sucks having to trawl through old posts to find an article on breeding.

Good idea bloozoo. :)

I think that if you have a successful protocol for breeding a particular fish, you should add it as a post under the fish in the TFF Index. I actually cleared/approved one like that today. It was done very well. If the fish is not listed, you could post the info under the breeding paragraph as the primary poster. SH
