Breeding Question

hi all. my yellow lab female has had eggs in her mouth for about 2 weeks now and was wondering how long till the hatch or have the hatched already and she is just keeping the fry in there. because once the fry are out and about swimming on there own i want to catch them and remove out of my main tank and put in my spare tank so they can grow in peace.

If I remember right they typicaly hatch around 3 weeks and she'll continue to hold them for another 5-10 days, which is why mbuna fry is so large when released.

I think dthoffsett meant they hatch in 3 days and usually hold for about 21 days total. Some hold alonger other will spit early. At 2 weeks the eggs have already hatched. They still may have egg sacks. But at two weeks there shouldn't be much egg sack left.

many thx for your replys. well i think i have seen fry in her mouth. i have heard that the fry are fairly big once they have left the mouth. sorry but any idea what size? its my first time keeping these fish.
