Breeding Daphnia

so guys i was just wondering how you breed daphnia as i want to provide a constant live food source for my fish. i've heared people put them in coke bottles and they breed is this true? and would they require any food i've heared they just filter feed or something but would it be wise to put a small plant in with them to feed on.or have i got it compleatly wrong do they need large breeding complexes? and how much daphina would i need to get them to start breeding?
