Breeding bristlenose plecos

Hello,
I have heard that the female bristlenose should be removed after spawning, is this really necessary or is it fine to leave her in?

There's no need to remove the female. She lays eggs in a cave. The male fertilises the eggs and guards the nest. The female swims off to do whatever and has nothing more to do with the young.
