Breeding Blind Caves!

I arrived home last night (late) & did not have time to fix tanks for my new arrivals, (Blind Caves - amoungst others) so I temporarily placed them in a (dirty) algea infested tank with about 15 Mollies, so that I could fix 'em up this morning.....

This morning, I noticed that they are spawning (the Blind Caves), so it was ..... decisions/decisions..... I decided to remove the mollies and let them (the Blind Caves) be..... Even my intervention with the net in tank chasing the Mollies did not disturb them... they just carried on spawning regardless.......

I left them till midday whilst setting up a 3ft to move them into..... (they were still busy spawning).....

I moved them into the freshly setup 3ft tank, and....... you guessed it...... they just carried on spawning...... I think Blind Caves are the dumbest fish I've ever seen.....

no offence but if you read ludwigs post he says they where new arrivals so guessing this was their first spawn unless they where doing it in the bag lol

I have had this a few times on arrival with other types of fish. Is moving to a new tank something that triggers spawning? For example when I put my Sterbai Corys in recently they laid a load of eggs on the first day and then a few days later but then never again since. I also remember Bolivian Rams doing the same thing.

Methinks that my water comes from the tap already cycled...... My (new) ruby Barbs also spawned this morning, but they are in with some Malawis I got.... so I'll sacrifice their spawn (this time).....
