On average, my Bettas produce around 150 to 200 fry every time they breed and there's no problem rearing them up to about 3.5 - 5 months when the males start to sort out their rankings (approximately 90 to a brood) and have to be separated..... where do one find so many containers to place them in.... I use "cutoff" 5l bottles, but feel this is not enough space for a growing boy... esp. as it has no aeration.

What do you guys do to separate so many fish??

I heard someone used jars and plastic popcorn buckets, if you are changing the water daily or every two days and there is a good surface area than aeration shouldn't be a problem with bettas being surface breathers. :good:

Stick a post up in the betta's part of the forum, the folks over there are barmy (not because they like betta's-they're just mad in their own right) but I'm sure you'll get some idea's from them.

this post should be bunmped to the betta forum because this section is for all anabantoids except bettas.
