i think it is a good idea. people unfamiliar with the set up of the forum would now instantly know where to post questions on bw setups and fish. though i do foresee a great deal of moving threads by the mods until people realize they should post it in the bw forum.

i do think mollies, since they are sold as mostly fw these days, should continue to be discussed in livebearers.

as for bw puffers................. that could get a bit confusing for folks, especially those new to puffers who may not even know they are talking about a bw fish (again, i see the mods doing a lot of moving of posts for a time.....)

a bw forum would also help bring awareness of this awesome branch of fish keeping and will give those with knowledge and experience a better chance to share that with us all.

I say yes :) I have a GSP who needs to be moved to a brackish set-up in the near future so would welcome the help in how to set it up, what plants, sg levels, etc.

Current stats:

36/3 in favour

It would probably help when people buy "freshwater" puffers that are actually brackish  Maybe someday there will be no oddball forum, just different groups, puffers, gobies, eels, ropefish and bichirs

Are you looking for more comments on the idea, more votes, or either/both?

I think a Brackish forum is a good idea. We have Tropical, Coldwater, and Marine, as well as Inverts and such, so why not Brackish? I know a number of members here keep BW fish, too.

Im just making sure the poll gets as much coverage as possible so it shows a true result of how members feel about having a extra forum added.:)

The voice of the people has been heard and the new forum has been started.

I hope everyone who keeps, or is thinking of getting fish that live in brackish water, pays it a visit.

Why not. This forum should cater to all fishkeeping types. After all, it's called tropical fish forums, and brackish fish are tropical too. (Some of them)
