Bought Some Daphnia

I bought a small pack of daphnia for 35p today and put them in one of my plastic tank.And was wondering of breeding them sort of so i can have more and feed it to my fish.I heard they like green water and you can feed them crushed flake 2 a week is this true
please advice.

yes they but they tend to do better in warm water though not as warm as our fish like..
also a decent light would help..
oh yeah maybe move this one into the proper category..

This is the planted tank section/ category.
If you want green water then put it in the sunlight but make sure the temmperature doesnt get to high - you may also get other algaes to.

s i ned light which is actually causing heat and i heard they can breed in cold water but slowly

Food doesnt make daphnia breath, and i dont know what to feed them, like I and Fifefish said, this is the planted section, you wont get many good answers.

in all due respect to XmurderX his electricity went out yesterday due to the snow, so the tank heater was off for 2 hours, so the temperature fluctuation killed the fish
