i bought some second hand bogwood and when ive got it home i noticed it smells of tobacco smoke. so im assuming its been in a room where its previous owners were smoking. ive soaked it in boiling water to kill off anything on it. will it be ok to use or not?

I think it will be ok too. Maybe give it a good long soak and change the water a few times until the smell is gone.

i agree it needs a good soak if you have an
out side water butt that you use to water the plants
with shot it in there for a week or two that what i used
to do with all my bog wood old and new

ok i think ill soak it a few more times untill the smell goes away.

i would soak it (as in leave it for a good few days to a week) more to get rid of some tannins.
I very much doubt a bit of 4th hand smoke would do anything to your aquarium
