I have a reasonably well established 125 litre tank which is currently home to mollies, barbs, a clown pleco and some amano shrimp. Will some botia be compatible with this community? If so, which type?

What kind of barbs do you have?

Hi Fluttermoth. I have Cherry Barbs.

Lovely :)

How about zebra loach Botia striata? Don't get too big and shouldn't bully, or be bullied, by any of your current fish, although I can't be sure whether the shrimp would be safe.

Of there's kuhlis; they're safe with shrimps, as far a I'm aware.

The zebra loaches look fab! And the khulis are very unusual. I'll have a read around about both of them. I'm assuming clown loaches will grow too big?

Oh yes, definitely! Lovely fish, but need at least a five or six foot long tank, as they can grow to about a foot long themselves!

There are also rosy loach and dwarf chain loach, which are both lovely and stay small (in fact the rosy loach might be a bit too small for your tank!), but not many shops have them :/
