Hi peeps.

Ive been interested in some bolivian rams for a while, and maybe some kribensis'. Although, my 3 tanks are all planted. Quite densely at that. I have been told that cichlids like to rearrange the plants (lol) and all of my tanks are planted. Will kribs and bolivian rams unroot my plants and destroy my beautiful tanks (lol).

Bolivian rams won't bother the plants, they don't even so much as nibble on any of my plants. I don't have experience with Kribs to give advice there but I have seen them in many planted tanks, so I would make a guess that they wouldn't uproot anything.

i think my kribs are munching on my hydrophillia diformis, and sometimes when new anubia leaves sprout they get eaten. But i am not 100% certain as i cant see them in the act.

Hi, I've got a pair of Bolivian Rams and a pair of Kribs in my community tank and would agree with both the previous replies. The rams do nothing more to the plants than rest underneath them, but I have caught the kribs taking the odd nibble....nothing sustained though so damage is only slight. I wouldn't rule out either on plant related grounds!

thanks for that you guys. I do have angelfish that like to nibble on some of my plants, so thats not new to me.
