Well I've gotta give him points for trying. At the moment I think I have 2 male and 2 female rams. The females notoriously hard to sex with them actually breeding, but based on shapes and behaviour I'm going for 2 females and 2 males.
Anyhoo... the biggest male has been displaying ALL day, particularly over 'his' rock. So I thought I'd take a couple of photos to show you all.

First picture... bit too dark, you can sorta make out the flared gills

Second picture, I'd just switched to flash and had taken one picture before this one. So he'd taken to looking at me...

Then a female swam over...

She's behind him...

...And she's not interested

Poor thing, he's being repeatedly rejected, but he's trying his hardest. I imagine he will ache by the end of today... if fish ache that is? lol.
I do love his colours though when he's being showey, the flash washes it out a bit but his ventrals imparticular go almost black they're that dark.

I love your rams C101, how long have you had them.

:good: Keith.

Hmm, probably about 4-6weeks I think. They were lfs bought and were relatively big but they have matured LOADS since I've had them. Right now they're just adjusting to the tank change around. I just planted a loads of plants and moved some decor.

The biggest male took a break from showing off to cower whilst I was messing around but is now back at it. Lol.

If i had more tank space i would get a partner for my female blue acara.

Keith.
