Hi all, hoping for some advice and hoping this has been experianced before!

I have a bolivian ram in my aquarium that for some strange reason is the normal colouring on its right hand side but as if a line was drawen straight down the middle on his left side it has gone a very dark grey almost black!! looks verry strange, he's still swimming around and eating fine no bloating or body shape change just colour?

please help

ps there is no bullys in the tank so have ruled out stress

I have two boliv's who change colour with their mood, although not as distinct as your describing.

Can you tell us your water parameters, ie, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate please. Also what are the other tank inhabitants, size of the tank and whether you cycled with fish in or did you do a fishless cycle (by adding a source of ammonia)?

hi have had the tank up and rumming for over 6mts now, its 190litre, medium planted 2 dwarf gourami, 1 ram, 10 rummynose, 10 neon tetra, 1 pleco all others are fine great colorings, with light on from 14hrs a day weekley 25% water changes all levels and peramiters are fine, this is why i was finding it strange

Can you post water stats please.
Black patches can be ammonia burns that are healing, to other things like fighting wounds to cancer.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing or laboured breathing.
