BogWood

I have a piece of driftwood purchased from a pet store

it is screwed into a sort of metal piece to weigh it down.
I put it in water at forst and it floated so i let it soak in very hot water. everyday i changed the water and put new hot water in

after 1 week it sank but i have a feeling that without the metal part, it would still float

they are kinda hard to weigh down, especially the larger pieces. just get some big heavy rocks to wiegh it down and hild it in place

almost forgot about tanins.
I don't have any showing in my tank. I have a pouch of purigen in one of my filters so maybe it takes them out but i haven't noticed the slightest difference

Well maybe I will take the smaller piece and just let it float around 75, it should not mess up tank, will it?

Have no i dea what to do with other piece

Just boil the wood then it sinks  thats what i find with drift wood....however my drift wood still realeases tannis after 6 months so I give up on it (I nearly have)_ its been boiled like 5 times and each time the water stinks and is brown
