just put in a lump of wood bought from lfs. Its been in for a week now but when i was cleaning the gravel today the water went a real dark green. Is this normal or shud i take it out.

It was bought for my bristlenose and frogs to hide, also for the BS to feed on as i heard on this site that they like it.

Any help would be very gratefull

Hi, Did you soak it in hot water for a few days before adding it to tank?

It will cause water to be murky for a while (usually turns water browny-yellow though)

Think thats were i have went wrong, i never soaked it. Do you think it be alright or shud i take it out and soak it

I would take it out and soak it for a while> Your Lfs should have told u, but nevermind....some fish like stained waters.

Yea it seems to alright. I took it out anyway have it soaking in hot water so it should be alright soon.

PS lfs is useless they only want your money. Have to get rid of my 2 tiger barbs cos as im only starting up i didnt know they need a group, and im a bit over stocked toget any more
