Bog wood

Hi Forum,

I have just purchased a bit of bogwood off eBay. It was listed as used so I presume it has been in an aquarium before.

How should I treat this wood prior to putting it in my aquarium at home.

I boil anything that goes into my tank....

I will boil it in a bucket for a few days to see if it is leaching. and if not i will add it to the tank

Don't boil it for more than half an hour. You can let it sit in normal, unheated water for a week though to see if it will leech. Boiling it for days would not only destroy the wood but be dangerous as well.

sorry my post was unclear, i did mean boil it for a bit then let it sitin normal temp water
